I'm gonna keep going with this one because I'm having so much fun. Just ordered my light filters so I'm gonna be doing some REALLY crazy still lives later.

This guy embodies everything I could ever want in a study. Viking metal, long flowing hair, chiseled face and cloth. You only really need to do portrait and hand studies. You can extrapolate the rest of the materials, or get some ref.

They're called "hard" surfaces for a reason. Because of the amount of drawing needed to do this, it will be another two-day affair.

For some reason, the values are much darker than they are in the photo, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing. I feel like he still looks realistic, because I can push the contrast on the highlights.

I had something funny to say, but I forgot. I'm finally doing a personal piece (woah) over this weekend, so I'm jumping into colours. Not old enough for it, but I gotta do it.

My work cintique is doing WONDERS to the colours.

Working on the pose, weight and the terminator values. They're hard. Still crap, but at least it's faster.

It's tough.

Refined and ruined it. Gonna stay in grayscale land... probably till the end of the month or so. Then I'll bust out my green lightbulb again.
