Taking Another Break

This week is gonna be busy as hell, and I won't have time to do studies. Will likely resume after christmas.

Wip

Turns out 4 hours isn't enough for this guy. Gonna have to ask people at work tomorrow about how I can fix it. Will keep working.

Party

Did these today to make up for Thursday, and started on my sculpt. Will finish tomorrow.

Sorting Priorities

I didn't update yesterday, because there was a social event, but I'll make up for it on the weekend.

Running Around

We get famous so that we can have jobs that people won't want to hire us for, because our egos will be so huge from the fact that we got famous.

Stay Strong

The scanner wasn't working yesterday, so this is two days' work. I find that I keep coming back to the structure of fingers that I laid down in the sculpt. They're also probably the thing that I spent most of my time on. Next time I'm gonna focus on the wrist joint and interior of the palm.

Weekend Exam

Done in Mudbox based on hogarth drawings. Fingers were thickened to resemble my own hand. Been working on this over the course of last two days.

Next time I'm gonna use a shiny material so that I can learn highlights too.

It's so hard to do studies when everyone else around you is playing the game you're working on and having fun.

From now on I'm gonna measure my progress in pencils I go through. I'd say it takes about 3-4 pencils until you can draw one comfortably.

I feel like drawing hands is just a good exercise in perspective and volume. I devised a way to give myself an end of the week quiz, too. Watch out.

I think I need to start with the right simplified values first. I jump into gradients too quickly. Shit.

Practice

I've been pretty lazy with drawing hands from imagination during these studies, and I have to say - you learn twice as fast when you draw one hand from imagination for every hand you copy.
